The “Knitting For Hope” project, which is the wonderful output of our “Social Inclusion of Refugee Youth Throught Social Entrepreneurship” Erasmus+ Project, which set out with the motto of “Knitters Arm Each Other”, celebrates its first anniversary! Working non-stop for a year, the Knitting For Hope team underlines that the amigurumi toys made are much better than the first examples, that women have made significant progress in this regard and that they have a very nice family atmosphere. Stating that important steps have been taken, the project coordinator Rukiye Güler celebrated the first year of the Knitting For Hope project with the following words;
We celebrated the 1st anniversary of our “Knitting For Hope” project on this road we embarked on as part of the “Social Inclusion of Refugee Youth Throught Social Entrepreneurship” Erasmus+ Project. It is processed like a hand knitting. An initiative full of sincerity, solidarity and dreams. It grows like a baby in our hands. The day I dreamed about feels like yesterday. Today, we are one big family.”
With his words, he celebrated the first year of the Knitting For Hope project; He emphasized that we are one big family. The Knitting For Hope project has also undertaken a number of works that will vary in its products in a short time. At the beginning of these studies; There are environmentally friendly, ecological name badges produced to minimize the harmful effects of plastic name badges on the environment. These badges, which are very useful in terms of sustainability, are functional enough to be used in any program. Expressing that it has started to be used in many projects in this sense, the Knitting For Hope team expressed their happiness in the face of this situation with the following words:
“Our ecological name badges were liked by many people in a short time. And it started to be used in many projects. Our name badges, which started to be used in the Erasmus+ project ‘We Are All Migrants’, are respectively; It was used and continues to be used in the erasmus+ project, Paint Your Future Green, in Larissa, Greece, in Ankara, at the Eurodesk year-end evaluation meeting and at the University of Messina, Italy. We are really happy that there is an awareness of environmental sensitivity.”
He underlined that the eco-friendly name badges produced with his words are used in various parts of the world; expressed their happiness in this regard.
The Knitting For Hope project continues on its way with great hope and solidarity. And it is increasing its efforts for local-migrant women to walk hand in hand to a future full of hope.
